This door definitely was used as an entrance door. You'll see evidence of a lock AND the weathered wood under the many coats of paint.

We believe it to be pine. It, obviously, has been reduced in width; however it is still substantial and well-supported with the three battens.

We salvaged it from a log cabin that had been re-built post-civil war. We don't know the history of the original cabin or this door in its earlier days.
