We are seeking an experienced Commercial Woodworking Finisher / Stainer to join our team. This role involves preparing, staining, sealing, and finishing high-quality architectural millwork for commercial projects. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, pays close attention to detail, and understands production schedules and quality standards.
Responsibilities
-Prepare wood surfaces through sanding, filling, and sealing
-Apply stains, dyes, sealers, and topcoats to achieve specified finishes
-Match stains and finishes per samples, drawings, and specifications
-Operate spray equipment and finishing tools safely and efficiently
-Inspect finished products to ensure quality and consistency
-Maintain a clean and organized finishing area
-Follow safety procedures and company quality standards
-Work collaboratively with shop and field teams to meet project deadlines
Qualifications
-Strong knowledge of stains, paints, lacquers, conversion varnish, and other commercial finishes
-Experience with spray finishing systems preferred
-Ability to match custom finishes accurately
-Understanding of shop drawings and finish schedules
-Reliable, detail-oriented, and quality-focused
Preferred (but not required)
-Experience with AWI standards or architectural millwork projects
-Familiarity with both shop and onsite finishing environments
-OSHA safety training
