Title Pre-Processor - Highland Title & Escrow (McLean, VA)

We currently have an opportunity for an individual with two years of experience as a Settlement Pre-Processor to join our team. Also, if you don't have experience as a Settlement Pre-Processor but think you may want to have a career in the dynamic Real Estate and Title Insurance industries and you meet most of our other requirements and qualifications, we would like to speak with you as well. This position is full time and is non-exempt / hourly.

Essential Responsibilities:

Assists Processors and / or Settlement Closers by ordering all documentation needed to process a real estate closing, including, but not limited to: loan payoffs, surveys, title abstracts, title commitments, prepared deeds, and judgments.
Contacts seller for additional documentation including: deed, termite inspection, and water / sewer reports as required.
Contacts buyer for additional documentation to include hazard insurance, survey, and homeowner association information as required.
Opens and monitors files on computer software utilizing operating system tasks to ensure all information requests and responses are completed timely, kept current and entered correctly.
Works with Processor / Settlement Closer to clear requirements on title commitments.
After settlement, assists Processor / Settlement Closer / Post Closing to schedule documents to be recorded, disburses funds and returns completed loan package to lender.
Provides documentation to title insurance agent for the preparation of final title policies.
Provides documentation to all parties in the transaction as requested.
Answers phones and provides an informed response to callers
Qualifications:

Have 2 years title-specific or similar experience
Have title industry software knowledge; familiarity with ResWare preferred; other industry software experience / familiarity is a plus (RamQuest, Qualia, SoftPro, TSS, Landtech, etc.)
Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as real estate contracts, real estate property tax information sheets, and the Closing Disclosure (CD) excellent proof-reading skills
Be a Notary or ability to obtain within 90 days
Be a licensed title agent or ability to become licensed within 90 days
Must be smart, a quick learner, but with common sense and able to adapt easily to fast-paced, high volume environment
Above average people skills and strong customer service / orientation is necessary
Ability to multi-task effectively, particularly in stressful situations
Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills
Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel are must-haves)
Must be able to effectively communicate with buyers, sellers, lenders, agents, and other industry professionals
Ability to multitask in a high volume atmosphere
Excellent analytical skills; attention to detail required
Must be able to pass an industry specific pre-employment background check

Education:
