A Night Chaperone works at various hotels in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area (primarily near Dulles, VA and Gaithersburg, MD) and is responsible for monitoring student rooms on a specific floor between the hours of 9:45pm and 5am. A Night Chaperone enforces outlined curfews and controls noise to allow the adults traveling with the group to rest, while keeping student safety a priority. They are also responsible for the physical safety of students and for reacting to emergency situations that may arise on site.

Provide the highest level of safety for all participants while they are on tour.
Remain actively monitoring the assigned hotel floors from 9:45pm to 5am.
Present a professional image – remain courteous, positive and helpful.
Follow proper procedure while working on assigned floor to include: checking in/out of the hotel with designated personnel, introduction to Program Leaders and groups and escalation protocol.
Maintain a professional relationship with students at all times.
Must be 25 years of age or older.
Must have availability from March-June during peak season.
Team player that works well with students, teachers, vendors and WorldStrides staff.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have the use of sensory skills as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk and hear – to be able to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and clients.
Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including walking up and down numerous flights of stairs in case of a hotel emergency, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Successful completion of applicable background screening.
