Timber & Joist Decking Inc. is looking for an experienced deck carpenter to join our team. We build high-quality composite and wood decks throughout Northern Virginia, with most projects located close to Springfield and surrounding areas.
Pay:
Up to $35/hour
Pay based on verifiable deck-building experience, skill level, productivity, and reliability.
Requirements:
Must have real deck-building experience
Must know how to: Layout and frame decks
Install footings, posts, beams, and joists
Read a tape measure accurately
Cut and install decking
Install railings and stairs
Use common carpentry tools safely
Must have reliable transportation
Must show up on time every day
Must be able to work independently without constant supervision
Must speak enough English to communicate effectively on the jobsite
Preferred:
Experience with: Composite decking (Trex, Fiberon, TimberTech, etc.)
Hidden fastener systems
Picture-frame decking
Stair construction
Fairfax County deck inspections and code requirements
Own hand tools
Not Looking For:
General laborers with no deck experience
People who need to be trained from scratch
No-shows or unreliable workers
Drug or alcohol problems on the job
