Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a UPS/Mission Critical Territory Sales Representative in Manassas, Virginia. The UPS/Mission Critical Territory Sales Representative is responsible for selling Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), associated products, and systems. This role will travel throughout an assigned territory to meet with customers and prospective customers to solicit UPS purchases and make recommendations for solutions best suited for customers’ projects. Additional duties include providing quotes with credit terms, preparing sales contracts for new orders, establishing and communicating delivery dates, producing/updating forecast reports and meeting or exceeding Company targets for units, revenue and gross profit. Seeking candidates with a minimum of three years’ sales experience selling UPS equipment 50kw and above, or 3 to 5 years’ experience as a UPS Project Manager. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering form an accredited university preferred.
Requirements for the UPS/Mission Critical Territory Sales Representative position include:
Self-starter able to work with limited supervision. Capable of developing objectives, setting priorities and implementing ideas in a timely manner.
High mechanical/electrical aptitude; able to maintain up to date knowledge of mission critical products and systems.
Capable of effectively negotiating and closing deals.
Excellent customer satisfaction skills and the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
Must be innovative and creative to handle challenging situations.
Must be organized, able to prioritize workload and handle several tasks at once.
Strong PC skills with the ability to self-develop and adapt to changing technology.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Able to travel and work hours required to meet job/customer demand.
Physical requirements must be met for the UPS/Mission Critical Territory Sales Representative job, including the ability sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
