This Drobo is a multi-drive safe storage system. This is a model 5C. It can use up to five bare drives, no shuttles or mount plates are necessary. The interface port is a USB-C.

I have used mine with Mac OS. Included are the variety of the software. The parent company went out of business, taking down the excellent Drobo system.
It uses 2, 3 or 4 drives. If a drive fails, no data is lost. The enclosure has lights that warn you if a drive is going to fail. You can replace a failed drive with a good drive. Then the system re-configures with the replacement drive.

You can also upgrade the drives by pulling one and simply replacing it with a larger drive. Data is protected by redundancy. You can operate on a Mac up to OS 11.
I have a collection of Drobo software/drivers for Mac OS.
This version of the enclosure has a USB C port. It can be used on a computer with an old USB plug or the USB-C port.
This enclosure is in excellent condition
I am selling the enclosure without drives.
