The Splicing Technician is primarily responsible for fusion splicing, verification testing, troubleshooting and fiber optic cable repair. The position also involves maintaining the crew truck, stocking, cleaning and following all paperwork test requirements. Applicants must be able to drive a Truck with a trailer attached. Splicing technician is also responsible for maintaining a safe work environment by providing street cones, working signs and overseeing the safety of anyone operating in or around the job site locations. Lastly, a splicing technician must follow all customer requirements while working on any customer networks.

Splicing Technician must be able to perform heavy physical labor, be able to discriminate between colors and must not be afraid of heights or confined spaces. A valid driver’s license is required and the driver must have a good driving record. DOT physical and RMV driving record is also required. This is an outside position with exposure to all types of weather conditions. Extensive travel is required; may be away from home five days per week. Must have own vehicle. Must be able to submit to a drug test. The hours are Monday-Friday, weekends and night work as needed.
