We are seeking a fourth housemate to share our wonderful rowhouse in Eckington, DC. Details below!
The Room: The available room is one of three bedrooms upstairs that shares a bathroom with one other (female) roommate. It has a closet, and I am willing to sell my bed, desk, dresser, lamps, and any other furniture in the room. It is available starting Nov 15th to Dec 1st, and monthly rent is $1000 with a security deposit of $1000. The lease is month-to-month, but we are looking for someone who can commit to at least one year.
The House: The house is a traditional DC rowhouse that was renovated shortly before we moved in about 10 years ago and we recently upgraded our appliances and now have new stove/oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator. The main floor is high-ceilinged and bright with recessed lighting and an open floor plan comprising the living room, dining room, and kitchen. It has an (almost) full English basement where one of the housemates has his room. The laundry room (front-loading washer and separate dryer) is also downstairs. The three other bedrooms, including the available room, are located on the second floor. We also have a fully enclosed backyard with a tiered deck with two raised garden beds if you like to garden. We spend a lot of time in the backyard in the spring, summer, and fall grilling and enjoying our firepit.
The Neighborhood: Our house is an excellent spot - located right between Eckington and Bloomingdale and just a few blocks from the best the neighborhood has to offer, including Showtime, Boundary Stone, The Red Hen, Yoga District, Lost Generation Brewing, and Big Bear, among others. For any rock-climbing enthusiasts, DC Bouldering Project is less than a 10-minute walk. The MBTA is also just a couple blocks away and very easily accessible. There is a Capital Bikeshare docking station right across the street.
About Us: We are two women and a man in our early-to-late 30s and we’ve been living together for a number of years. In addition to being housemates, we’re also friends and often spend time together – we often cook together, watch shows/movies, and go to happy hours. We often have gatherings, dinner parties, backyard cookouts, etc., but nothing that gets too crazy. We keep the place pretty tidy, but we’re not uptight. Our jobs are all either hybrid or fully remote, so there is usually someone home during the day. We also have two sweet kitties and a goofy cuddly dog. Because we have reached our lease limit, we can't really accommodate more pets, sorry!
Ideal Roommate: We are looking for someone friendly, responsible, laid back, and community-minded who is open to being a part of a household community. Because the bathroom will be shared with one of the female roommates, we are looking for another preferably female roommate. Loving animals is a must!
Please send us an email with a little bit about yourself if you’re interested or if you have any questions!
