Beautiful and spacious houseshare currently open for a short-term housemate (3-6 months) with the potential for longer-term if circumstances and fit support. "Fit" is important - a conversation and a site visit (virtual can be arranged if required) will be requested before confirmation.
Room itself is on the second floor, approximately 12 x 15 ft, hardwood floors with area rug to protect floor from main furniture items. Double-door closet available. Also two windows, one facing backyard with large tree and natural yard. Comes equipped with certifiably comfortable futon, recliner, and small tables. Furniture needs can be discussed. Ceiling fan. House comes equipped with both heat and a/c.
Laundry is available on site, and there is also a laundromat in walking distance. Off-street parking is possible in a narrow driveway to be negotiated. On-street parking is also available without restriction.
The house is a large, early 1900s home in a beautiful setting with a lot of natural light and plant life around. There is a large private backyard, back porch, and large front wrap-around porch. You would have your own room, lightly furnished, and can use the sun room for a second work space as needed. The house is spacious with a shared kitchen (fully stocked with all major appliances), dining room, living room, and two bathrooms - one main and one half bath. There is an unfinished basement and partial attic for additional storage. There is also a piano, if you play.
You would be sharing the house with me, the current resident, a 40-year-old community-minded professional female who works from home and has a generally quiet lifestyle of early nights and early mornings. Potlucks, game nights, community sings are hosted on occasion.
House is in the diverse, charming neighborhood of Mount Rainier, MD (bordering NE DC) with easy bus access to both UMD/Hyattsville and DC. Neighborhood gems include Joe's Movement Emporium, artist studios, Glut Coop grocery, Saturday farmers market, nearby bike paths, hair shops and restaurants and more.
Rent may be negotiable.
