Rent: $800 per month for the cheaper, non-private bathroom. Feel free to ask about other configurations and bigger rooms as well.
Both short and long, indefinite stays are fine.
Location: The house is approximately a 12-minute walk from the Wheaton Metro red line, just north of the DC Beltway (I-495). Union Station, in downtown DC, is a 22-minute metro ride. NIH is a 14–20 minute RideOn Route 34 bus ride. Metro buses Q1, Q2, Q4, Q5, and Q6 get you to downtown (northern) Rockville. Downtown Silver Spring is 2 metro stops away, but the Q1, Q2, and Q4 buses are a little faster due to the long escalator. A Safeway grocery store is right at the metro, and we're within walking distance of the biggest shopping complex on the metro (including Target, Costco, Giant Food, Macy's, 80 nearby restaurants, and 16 bars). The neighborhood is probably the safest in the DC area, with 88% less crime than DC proper.
Room: The room has a keyed lock for extra security, a queen bed with storage areas, a desk, a small dresser, a fridge, a chair, and a closet with an iron and ironing board. There's wireless, but there's also a wired connection because wireless isn't as secure and can't make full use of our fiber optic connection. To prove you read this far, include the word jeep in your first communication. The temperature is adjustable to your liking, with strong, floor-specific central air conditioning (AC) and heat. Everything not new in the room was washed, including the pillows, and the mattress was fully aired out.
House details: This is a large house with a working fireplace, weight room, and rec room. The kitchen has most of the gadgets you blissfully but mistakenly thought you'd use. There's plenty of refrigerator space and space for dried food, and the dishes are sanitized using the NSF 184 protocol. There's a deck, an outdoor grill, a hammock, a greenhouse, and a flower garden.
There's a 65" 4K TV with 5.1 surround sound on the same floor that includes access to 4 networks, including even VUDU.
House atmosphere: similar to the Friends TV show, but there's a heavy emphasis on voting to make decisions, including about who next moves in.
