Room Available November 15th.
The bedroom is actually a two-room suite offering lots of space with six windows overlooking the back yard patio, providing lots of natural light, hardwood floors, and a newly remodeled bathroom shared with one other housemate.
Flexible Lease Term - six-month lease which converts to Month to Month with no rent increase, just a one-month notice to vacate. Most housemates stay a few years or more. We have one very friendly cat.
We are working professionals in our late twenties to early thirties looking to welcome a new housemate!
The house is spacious, clean, and fully furnished. The first floor has a formal entry foyer, a large living room with a fireplace, a formal dining room, an open kitchen with a family room/sunroom attached, and a laundry room. We also have a few beautiful gardens, a large front porch, and a huge backyard patio with plenty of seating, a fire-pit, a ping pong table and a BBQ grill.
We’re respectful and fun. We enjoy hanging out together as a house from time to time, cooking, enjoying the back patio, movies on the big screen in the living room, playing chess, an evening by the fireplace, and occasionally hosting friends. We tend to keep it pretty quiet during the week and may have a few friends over on the weekends for a patio BBQ. The house tends towards a social dynamic, but you can keep to yourself as well if that is your preference.
Great Location:
The house is a 12-minute walk from the Red Line, and several bus routes converge at the cross street steps from the porch, which will take you to Georgetown, Tenleytown, Bethesda, Columbia Heights, Dupont Circle, and beyond. There is ample street parking in the neighborhood and we have a driveway that we share.
Two blocks from the house you have Cathedral Commons which features Giant grocery store, many great restaurants, coffee shops, health clubs, dry cleaners; McLean Gardens, Sidwell Friends School, a new Wegmans - at City Ridge complex. Hearst Park is one block away, sporting a new pool, tennis courts, soccer fields, basketball courts, and playgrounds.
The area is very safe.
Utilities:
The utilities (including water, electricity, WIFI, central air, and gas) run about $130 per month (sometimes a bit less, sometimes a bit more depending on the season) on average and include a cleaning crew for the common areas.
Overall, this house is a great value. If you are interested in a tour, in-person or virtual, please reach out!
