Hi y'all! We have an opening in our 3 bedroom condo in Petworth! We rent the condo from the owner/property management company, and the available room is $1,787/month. Water is included in the cost of rent, but the remaining utilities (including internet) are in addition to the rent, and run about $54-60 per month per resident.
The room that is available, the master bedroom of the condo, is large, gorgeous, and filled with sunlight. It faces the street and there is plenty of room for all that you might need or want - as large a bed as you'd like, a dresser, nightstand, and more! The room also has two small sky light-like windows and four regular-sized windows. The room comes with its own en suite bathroom with a jacuzzi, shower, two sinks, and the last of the four windows! The room has two closets as well!
The room will be unfurnished, but the rest of the house will not be - there is also plenty of room in the common spaces, if you have furniture or items to add! We also have a washer and dryer in the unit and a half-bath on the first floor. Regarding pets, there is a pet application and the owner must approve your pet. If approved, the pet fee will be $300. There is also a large back patio/deck that is shared with the rest of the building, which only consists of 3 other units, two of which have their own small patios as well. Last but not least, there is parking available in the garage in our building for $100/month.
About the location of the house: We’re in a super-convenient spot in an up and coming neighborhood in DC. We’re right off of Georgia Avenue and very close to Upshur Street, so there are a lot of restaurants and bars nearby. We’re just a 9 minute walk to the Petworth metro station and even less to walk to Safeway, Yes! Organic, a farmers’ market, and the library. We’re very close to a number of bus lines as well and are a 20 minute walk to Columbia Heights, where there is a Target, Giant, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and lots of other stores and shopping!
About us: You will be living with two young professionals. We are friendly and always down to chat or hang out! We are also LGBTQ friendly!
About you: We are looking for someone who is clean, considerate, and communicative.
About the owner/property management company: The property management company is responsive and has resolved any issues we've had (which have not been frequent)! The lease goes until next June (30th), although property management is flexible in that those who need to move out only need find their own replacement in order to get off the lease. Also, the security deposit is $1,066.67. There is a credit check as part of the application and a $50 application fee.
