The home:
—The condo is very spacious – high ceilings, big windows, and two levels with all bedrooms on the bottom floor (each with private bathroom).
—On the top level, there is a spacious open floor plan with dining area, kitchen, living room, and a half bath. The kitchen features updated appliances including gas stove, dishwasher, fridge, and microwave.
—Full-sized washer/dryer in home, as well as indoor heat and A/C.
—There are 3 extra closets throughout the house that are shared for additional storage.
—The pictures with white walls are from the original home listing, for a better perspective of the layout. Any picture with tan walls shows the current set-up.
—Common spaces currently have furniture, but we can make space for yours! The bedroom comes unfurnished.
The location:
—Residential neighborhood with street parking available.
—A few blocks or less from several different bus lines (D40, D4X, and C77 are closest ) that can easily take you to nearby metro stops, downtown DC, or Silver Spring.
—Nearby metros are Georgia Ave/Petworth (1.4 miles), Fort Totten (1.5 miles) and Takoma metro (1.6 miles).
—Safeway and Walmart within a mile.
—Right off of Kennedy Street, with a number of local shops and restaurants (Everyday Sundae, Soup Up, La Coop, Taqueria Distrito Federal, etc).
The roommate:
—Roommate is a non-binary AFAB person in their thirties who works as a substitute teacher for nearby schools.
—I’m pretty laid back – I enjoy reading, running, playing computer games, and playing with the house cat. (Very few wild parties are held here.) 420 friendly.
—Fully vaccinated. Open to applicants of any gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, etc.
The practical pieces:
—Move-in date is officially October 1st, but we can probably move some of your stuff in earlier.
—Rent is 1550/month, with a first month security deposit. One year lease.
—No application fee - you’ll need to complete a rental application (sent directly to landlord).
—As tenants, we are responsible for electricity, gas, security, and internet. All which come to relatively low prices since they are being split (150 per person). Landlord covers water and trash.
—There is one cat in the home. If you have your own, please mention when emailing.
